Yard Snacks

Despite the fierce drought, it’s been a great year for yard snacks. Our raspberry patch invaded half the yard and not even Devon pretending to be a bear could keep up with the harvest:

The potatoes we planted in May in our front yard are ready to pull out too, and Devon has been helping. He’s now able to more readily associate the planting of seeds and the harvesting so he’s delighted by how his efforts produced food:

Unlike the potatoes which took lots of digging, most of the yard snacks we grow take no effort. Now that the raspberries are almost gone, our black currants are coming along nicely. Devon is devouring them faster than they can ripen:

The only one not impressed with all the excitement in our yard is Ryder. She’s suspicious of too much joy:
