We wanted to surprise Shauna with some new trees for Mother’s Day. The trees surprised us instead: they arrived a day too early and we rushed over to pick them up on Saturday. The tree pickup was at the Organic Farming center in Guelph and everything smelled like compost. Devon had strong feelings about the smell:
But he did help me pick the trees and make new homes for them in our yard. They’re plum trees and we’re looking forward to see them grow.
As an added bonus, we also planted potatoes in our front yard. Even though we were a day early, Shauna seemed pleased with the fruits of our labour:
And as befitting any celebration, we finished our planting party with a marshmallow party in the yard. Yay:
