After naps on Monday, we rushed over to see the eclipse at MacGregor Point. Devon was pretty excited: “Mom, don’t look at the sun,” he said. “The moon is passing in front.” He loves to tell us how the world works.
The Provincial Park had telescopes, eclipse sunglasses and shoe boxes to share. For grown-ups it was a pretty neat experience — we could see how much darker the earth got. But Devon found it somewhat underwhelming — because the eclipse was so tiny, he started calling it Clippers the Eclipse. It’s a suitable name.
We’re hoping that the total eclipse coming our way in 2024 will impress him slightly more.
