I started a new job earlier this year when things started to go poorly for my old department.
The new job is fun and the new bosses invited me to Philadelphia for a week. So I left Shauna to look after our crazy boy and drove down a day early to do a whirlwind tour of central Pennsylvania where the new office is located.
The inn where I’m staying is near the Brandywine river and museum. It’s a lovely place: a boardwalk goes down to a meandering river, and the water flows towards the old mill that has been rebuilt into a museum. When you sit on the shore in a garden near a massive pig sculpture, you can almost feel the building talking back to the river.
